I tried the stove today with the baffle plate fitted, and it burns even better with that fitted!
I also scrounged a 7" disc of 4mm stainless Steel to weld to my Hob so it will fit the kettle.
It was the perfect size and it had been laser cut so was a perfect circle.
I TIG Welded it onto the existing plate on the hob.
After firing up the fire I put the filled kettle onto it, and 20 minutes later the kettle was whistling
To save even more money, instead of cooking my sandwiches in the usual electric sandwich maker, I toasted them with the door open using some stainless Steel TIG welding rods as a makeshift toasting fork
Only took about 30 seocnds to toast each side, thats more electricity saved!
Just need to paint it black now, which I will do in a week or so when I am certain all the original paint has burned off
