Happy new Year to u all.......
have a wood boiler for central heating n hot water......Kiturami 30.......came with the house we just bought...
quite a big unit for a 4 bed house.......
now it at least 10 years old.....we have slightly hard water...
so with the amount of wood we're burning in relationship to the output I rekon the heat exchnger might need a descale......
would prefer to just do the boiler (it's an open system, with expansion / filler tank in the loft.....
I would like to do the boiler first (independantly) then add a descaler to the system to future proof it......
looked on u-tube etc ...so would like to use a pump and bucket/tank to just keep flushing the h/exchnger....
it's easy to isolate it from the system......
so would isolate the system, drain the heat / ex and then flush with cleaner....
cant tell u what the h/exch is made of but the rest of the boiler looks well put together.....
anyone done this before ?
what would be the best chemical....?
the yanks say a white vinegar solution but cant buy it in 5ltr tubs and to expensive to buy in bottles.....
dont care if I have to pump it for 24hrs as long as it does the job.....
there are chemicals like Ferox ??? but what dilution ??????
any help please......
