Hard to say as Wolf has made all kinds of similar models including ones that flat out could not make a decent weld as they left out vital parts. Supposedly used to be decent years ago before the beancounters took over
Have you ever owned, let alone used a welder made by Wolk UK in recent years? I have, and can confirm these machines are fully capable of producing a perfectly good weld. I'm not aware of any "vital parts" being left out at all. What exactly did you have in mind?
GeorgeB said:Incidentally, the MIG welder featured on eBay has non-live feed so that argument is invalid, too. As for support, how often does anyone need it? I've never needed to return any welding machine. For a basic MIG welder like that, they use fairly generic parts so a DIY type repair is perfectly possible, provided you're a bit DIY-minded.
george lets not have another cheep welder is better than an expensive welder. the question has been asked what we think and we have voiced our opinion as have you so let not argue
a questionDid I say a cheap welder is BETTER than an expensive welder? No, but cheap gear can sometimes be good value.
The opinions voiced include some suspected factual inaccuracies (live feed, parts missing, no rectifier - none of which apply to that eBay machine); hence my response. I know I'll always be out-gunned, though, by people who have never owned a Wolf welder but still have it in for them.
thats it in a nutshell with all tools. price and use and does it justifiy spending on .Had a Wolf from Aldi and it was ok, did the job without any problems, you only realise it is not great when you use a more expensive machine.... but everything in life is like that....it all boils down to what you want it for and the amount of use it will have.
Exactly the same with my £29 SDS drill, had it for 3 years and its been dead handy, used a £300 Hitachi and it was lovely machine...but could not justify the money against my needs.
We all have opinions based on our own experiences, if you can afford it..go for something a bit more upmarket...if not...happy Wolf welding
