Woden jaw screws

Hi, started stripping Woden vice and had to drill out one of the jaw retaining screws and as can be seen they’re not what I’d call a “standard” countersink. All I have and can find are the normal ones. Does anyone know if these are still available please. They’re 5/16” BSF.

All suggestions welcome, thanks.

I usually end up making them.

Find a 5/16 bolt. Cut a slot in it, turn it down.

If you can't find the exact type of replacement screws, consider using the standard ones with a piece of copper wire wrapped around the screw just under the head to fill the void and give some extra support to the screw shoulder.

Thankyou gents, unfortunately I don’t have a lathe, (immediate expulsion from forum?), although since signing up I have been looking a bit.
Packing under the shoulder is a excellent suggestion thanks.
I was hoping to avoid purchasing new jaws as the original ones are fully functioning but if I have to then it’s beans on toast or bread and water rations for a week or two.

Come get it. Cost me a few quid from a car boot. No good with the knackered screw and rather it had a use.

Cheers for the info, now that means I’ll have to start a collection of vices in the search for slow taper screws, I thought they’d have a proper name.

Gun wash you brought around came in handy last night thanks.
Stripping off foam and rubber strips from my Tracksaw rails last night and took the residue off a treat.

Did you manage to get the screws out.

Bl***y hell, give us a chance. I’ll let the vice soak in some diesel for a week before attempting to remove the screws.
