Afaik Noods that is the only way they will go on. The cutters are threaded at the back so you have to spin them up the thread on the arbour with the pins backed off then engage the pins once it's in place. Good ones will allow you to tighten the saw to the point it seats on the arbour and the pins line up spot on. Cheaper ones always need to be backed off a fraction for the pins to line up. Awful ones are half a turn out. Mine are middle of the road jobs. They don't quite line up with the hole saw nipped up fully.like the idea about spinning the cutter with the pins backed off .. good idea that..
