I have one roll of SIP gasless 0.8mm, it is gray, very hard, broke easily when I bent it, can't see core. Other role is silver, wire much softer and bends easily and took a good few repeated bends to break. Can't see core in it either.
Wire there is dull silver, like solder. Also from the way it's scunched up, looks much softer than this unid'd wire I have. This stuff is shiny silver and doesn't feel like aluminium, has a definte spring to it, when bent and let go it goes back to where it was.
If I try it in the welder as a gasless wire and it's not gasless wire, what would I be looking for to tell me what it is?
Not sure but ally wire may fail to go red hot if you heat it . Stainless may not react to a magnet if its 316 although lower grades have some magnetism.
