I know a similar question has been asked before but I can't find the thread so I'm afraid I'll have to ask it again (sorry guys).
For my mini (which has yet again just failed it's MOT) which size wire should I be using ? 0.6 or 0.8mm I'm sure it should be 0.6mm for ~1mm thick panels but I'd just like someone to confirm this for me Thanks guys.
For anyone that's interested the Mini (a real one 1986) failed on 3 of the 4 rear subframe mountings, which basically means a new boot floor and the back panel underneath the car that the front of the (rear) subframe bolts to. This'll be a pain to do as the back panel has to be welded in perfectly because, if it isn't, the subframe won't be straight and will throw out the rear wheel alignment ! How many of you have seen old Minis that appear to be driving down the road sideways ?? Other than that I'm looking forward to doing it :-) , should be fun and it's a great excuse to order that new MIG from BOC I've been rattling on about for the last 6 months !
