I'll contact Steve Monday but in the meantime would like to pick brains so that I understand what should be doing what.
Like a previous post I get a pulse/intermittent feed on the wire.
Now this is where I show my complete ignorance. Does the wire spool just rotate freely and the wire gets pulled off the spool by the feed rollers or is there a motor that also turns the spool.
What seems to happen is when I pull the trigger the wire just tightens on the drum - sometimes digging into the wire coil. The wire is a bit old but I have unwound it and rewound it so it should work for a short while if rust was the problem.
There is a lug on the spool holder which lock onto the reel so in that it does not turn it must be seized in some way.
So if there's a motor then its not turning the spool, if its is just a holder and meant to spin freely then something is seized.
What should be doing what?
Many thanks
