Not really 'Learning' as such but it may be of interest anyway.
I had trouble with the gas in a new bottle but this seems to have sorted itself, just as well since I was not sure what to do regarding clearing the line out, but to the new trouble.
I ran out of wire yesterday, well almost, because I had the door open since it kept refusing to feed smoothly. Sometimes lovely, sometimes stop, start, GRRRR. Saturday meant a twenty miles round trip to MM to get some wire, and back home I found that the mandrel was too tight to turn for the lug to match up. I undid the nut a little and all was well in the late afternoon.
This afternoon, more trouble with stop, start feeding. The roller is not perfect, but after yesterdays' discovery I checked the mandrel gain. Far too tight, the wire was being pulled into the full sool and jamming.
I have loosened it right off, and the following three hours of grind, bend, tack and weld went swimmingly. The difference is stunning, but the question remains.
