Wire feed problem...

Kia ora... I've a Cebora Bravo 155... went off to the garage to do a quick job... all setup and no wire coming through. Fan running, dash lights ok. Wire feed wasn't working. Opened up hand set and there was a burnt wire going to trigger (heat shrink-ed that), it had been touching a big brass lug. Reassemble, still nothing, there is a clunk sound when squeezing trigger. I did see someone mention on the forum - can you strike an arc... so tried last night and yes that worked (just enough wire out the spout)! Any recommendations for a novice...

This evening I took out PCB and found the cause... so in between C4 and D6 - the copper tape has burnt apart. As I mentioned above there was a burnt wire going to the trigger... the copper strip blown, traces to a wire leading to the trigger. Does that make sense? Anyway... I'll send away to see if it can be repaired... fingers crossed.
