Hi guys,
Has anyone took apart or replaced a bearing in a wire feed drive mechanism on a migatronic automig 180 mono before I dive into it? I discovered a bit of play on the drive side of the mechanism yesterday.

not familiar with that one but every wire feed ive seen just uses pretty standard bearing, either look at the numbers on it or put a set of calipers on it and your bound to get one for a few ££ from the online suppliers.
Yes, I was asking cos some of them are a sealed unit.(on the really cheap models) I haven't looked at mine yet as it resides 30 miles from me. The bearing side of it is easy peasy if it's accessible. Gonna have look at it next week.
Sorted the slight play on the wire feed mechanism, There is a locknut with a slotted screw through it on the back plate of the mechanism, it adjusts the thrust on the drive shaft, three quarters of a turn and play gone, the shaft has needle roller bearing on it. The inside of the gear box looked brand new. Removal and refitting was a doddle. Happy days.
