Its a quality wire feed and euro torch socket in one as used on portamigs.
Gotta ask yourself if its worth doing though, as you will have to add the cost of torch and probably gas solenoid, and even then the rest of your machine is still a sip
Maybe an idea to put the money towards a better respected make of welder, but good luck if you do the mod - post a couple of pics...
I've only spent around £10 on it so far for a roller brace, steel liner and separate transformer for the wire feed motor. Its ok but still just doesn't cut the mustard.
If a new more powerful consistant pressure wire clamp and motor cost me under £150 including a euro torch, i'm still spending £350 less than buying a portamig, murex or lincoln.
Dunno, i know what you're saying makes sense but just can't decide what to do.
Completely up to you mate
You seem to be looking at the two ends of the market - from something you need to spend extra money on to get working at all - to top of the hobby / semi pro range...
Why not something in the middle like a new Clarke for a couple of hundred?
When starting out and learning its frustrating using a machine that frankly a pro would struggle to get good welds with; and if you're already way past that point then surely your money would be better put towards one of the better machines...
