I have been lurking in this forum for a while and found it a wealth a knowledge, but never posted as normally the answer to the problem ive had has been solved from a search,
right I am at my wits end with my welder, its a 1980s maypole turbo 120,not the best I know but does all ive ever asked of it,until now,
ive been experiencing some wire feed issues that have yet to be solved,or found by any means of search,
basically the wire feed is similar to an sip,as far as I can tell,i have fitted a metal liner only a few weeks ago,i have an adjustable brace fitted,
fitted new drive roller this weekend
but the driven roller turns fine up and down the speed range until the the idle roller touches it even with slightest force,
the motor at this point is still turning, ive taken the motor out and tested to see if the gear was spinning on the armature which it is not,
ive pulled the gear box apart to check for wear or damage
but found none, all assembled back to gether and turning freely,
please help I have some welding that needs doing asap and I cant think of anything else
