It's time for new overalls. Flameproof overalls do burn!

I want a pair of thermal flameproof overalls, ebay has yeilded nowt, neither has Arco or Dickies. Anyone know where i can get them from? Need to be quilted - in a cherry picker at 80' up in winter gets cold - and of course flameproof cos i don't wanna be on fire - even tho it would warm ya up!

Dickes quilted a few years back, but not flameproof. Took a fair amount of grind splatter before the hand had to be used as a fire extinisgher!

No- In a word, I like the quilted dickies ones, but every pair iv had as ended up in an inferno, same as me paded shirts, Its never the welding less it overhead grr, but always the grinder. Iv got the bright orange floresent high vis ones at the mo, "oh prebane treated excellent you wont catch them on fire" said mr sales rep, burnt the leg out of them friday.. Soposed to be welding up some unit doors on monday 20ft ones picker job Iv told him its a no show if this N wind doesnt calm down, southern softie hey?

Yeah, the grinders the worst thing. Usually cos the sparks land at b0llock level!
I've got a pair of the hi-vis ones, i'm 6'2" and the gusset of the overalls scrapes the floor - everything else fits. Very out of proportion. Overalls. Not me.

Come up north Snowy - up here anyone who owns a coat is a puff!

Same problem, If they fit the arms and legs then there made for geoff capes..

The best fitting clothes has to be my mate, he bought a pair of ex-army trousers size 48" waist. The crutch was on the floor, and he said his mum could alter them. Trouble was i was under an old bedford CA ice cream van, took ages for the bump on my head to go down from laughing at the muppet.

Not been here for a long time, I have some flame proof ones, from dickies, very good so far, but not quilted, just wear some thermal underwear, no difference really!

Otherwise, may be worth trying Arco, and some of the racing car places, but they are dear, fireproof and thick.

Nomex are flameproof, but the cost would be a bit steep for workware.

What about Governemnt surplus? You might get something firefighters use?

I have dickies proban ones, body and legs fit nice, but i keep ripping the arms off, incredible hulk style!!
Once theyve been washed a couple of times, the proban has washed out and then they do tend to burn

The other flame proof stuff that springs to mind is nomex, you can get fleeces, high vis jackets...poloshirts..... thats what firebrigade pilots overalls etc are made with.

What you need Paul, is the Pioner Arcmaster Coverall. Not Cheap, But very good kit.

Good stuff - thats the one i want. Can you buy direct off them or do they have distributors?

The welding Fashionista this year are mainly wearing: Pair of Dickies probans and wear trackie bottoms (or long johns) under your jeans, and fleece top over a jumper. Snug as a bug in a rug

How much are these lined overalls?

I just do what has been said, long johns, and a fleece under the overalls and a cheap fleece over the top if real cold, should keep you warm!

i get the BizWeld overalls of the man in the van £20 a go seem to last ok dont know if they do the padded type tho

I've just got back from my local PPE suppliers - returning the Bizweld ovies I bought last week - they were "mediums" - er, like , for a medium sized elephant. And the side pockets were about 2" deep, so useless. Here's one for Darren - they are made in China.

I also have some Harpoon brand Proban ovies, which were £20, and good (and they fit!)
