Scrunched up, quite damp newspaper is really good at getting the cleaner off, but it is a task which takes some elbow grease, which is why we mostly do it infrequently, and then find it hard work.

Wynns glass cleaner aerosol is good but Mr Muscle glass cleaner spray is quite good too.

Just remembered last time I cleaned the screen on my motorhome using a bit of clay bar and plenty of fresh water, worked well

I found RainX glass cleaner to be really good on the outside - it stinks and seems abrasive. I don't often use it - which is why I still have most of a bottle left that I bought in a Walmart in 1999 in upstate NY

Considering how really important a clean screen can be on a stormy winter's night, just go buy something good. IPA is definitely second best; too volatile really. Of course, for anyone who wears specs, looking through 4 refracting surfaces is always more problematic.

I remember buying some ‘non smear window wipes’ years ago....

It was horrendous, took several days before I could get the awful marks off the glass enough to drive safely at night.

I really can’t see how some people can drive with smears and fingermarks and grease and that all over their screen. Taxi driver I used to get a ride to the airport with would wipe the condensation off the screen with the back of his hand, while we were driving along......

A Stanley knife blade-based scraper, used with water, at a shallow angle on the outside of the screen, also gets rid of those persistent little bits that stop the wiper blades from doing the best job possible.
