Nope under the governor cover......Heat to straighten, tig weld with full penetration+ extra meat then file back, I presume it's on the outside of the pump?
If not new part...
Hand filing is bloomin hard work!!!easy enough to make a new one.....
why risk it.
not enough meat on the bone for a decent weld......
brazeing ?????
Sounds like my apprenticeship at HM Dockyard, Chatham. Months of filing in ‘Basic Hand Skills’. I absolutely LOVED it!!I spent the first eight months of my apprenticeship, on what was euphemistically described as 'basic hand tools' . So I know all about filing nearest we got to machining in those months was drilling holes on a drill press.
Good quality files make a huge differenceHand filing is bloomin hard work!!!

basic bench fitting. I had an instructor who had filed that much his thumb bent at nearly 90 degrees only the wrong way , and he used to bend flat files with his thumb while using them AAC Chep.

Bit earlier, I started in '64 but like you left in '82 during the run down to the closure. I was an Engine Fitter apprentice. In fact, coincidentally yesterday was the 59th anniversary of the start of my apprenticeship.I was there ‘78 to ‘82. Electrical Fitter apprentice. How about you?
My 45 year anniversary will be on Monday of next week! Strange how these dates have stuck in our minds for so long! Started on Sept 4th, and bought a brand new Yamaha RD250 on the 9th - a whopping £626 on the road!
