Hi All
Not sure if right place but......
Im making a rear hub for a 3 wheel car. I want to use 2 front hubs from an Austin a40,(probably sinmlar to mini hubs)back to back with a tube spacer about 75mm long in between,to give the required width. The hubs are cast(I think) . Definitely not billet.
The tube(about 60mm i.d.and about 5mm wall)) will be made from a piece of machined mild steel bar.The tube will fit over the back edges of the hubs onto a existing machined 'shoulder' about 10mm wide.Would a mig weld round each end of the tube where it meets the hubs be ok? Or will there be some indifference in the metals that will cause probs?
Thanks in advance
Rod
