Hi will this compressor run a clarke heavy duty blast cabinet the bench mounted one.

Hello Luke,

Clarke say a minimum of 10 CFM, how much does your compressor give?

Sand blasters are pretty hungry for air generally.

We can get it up to 60 - 80 ish psi on the gauge

It's the CFM, or if you don't know that, the HP of the motor will give us a clue.

why wont it go any higher should at least reach 100psi . is it single cylinder?? or twin. if its single it wont produce much air in any great hurry

mitchells & butlers???? wern't they something to do with the pub trade? I could be wrong but if so,. I had the chance to buy a vertical tank compressor made by broom wade[there were loads of them around years ago] it was really good quality exept for the fact that they were really slow to pump up[so I didn't buy it] as brightspark says it should at least go to 100psi & cut out & as piman says it's the cfm you require at a given pressure.

it's a single cylinder one, think is will go more just that there is paint on the gauge, i would say 8hp motor my self, pumps up quite quick tbh.

i hardly think it will be 8hp more like1and a half hp and probably about 7cfm

Sorry we got it of ebay had it about 3 or so years now it's a good compressor.

fine then 3hp :P

Might just give it a shot and see if it will work, if not will look for another compressor

You should be OK with start-stop blasting small items. I think your biggest disappointment will be the gun itself.

I suggest you look in the "Air Compressors" section of the forum, loads and loads of stuff there.

the small machine mart cabinet isnt verry big and will only hold small items. i have one i modified just for bead blasting small parts u would be better getting the larger one and doing a few mods on it making better air and dust extraction heres the mods i did on my small cabinet i have a home made cabinet that takes car wheels as well. the pickup in small cabinet had to be altered as well as the hopper to make it more usable

the larger clarke cabinet is more worth while buying but the dust extraction would be best upgraded and the syphon pickup improving heres my larger cabinet with a woodchip extracata fitted as rtb says theres posts on all the mods if u look through older posts and most things are covered

Thankyou, ive found your improvement thread and will stick a couple of 12v strip lights (Dad Breaks Caravans) so i will have alook in the cupboards in the garage for some good ones , And will do the hopper pipe improvement
