So, it turns out the hose wasn't blocked, one of the fittings on the end had a built in check valve.

With the hose connected the right way round it worked, but I think the nozzle might be a bit too big but it worked. The pressure had to be very low or it blows itself out.

I did manage to melt and blow a bit of boro' glass tubing, and it'll definitely work for soldering too, so I'm a happy bunny.

I've had it all about a year now, I might even try out the torch soon.

i did have to look back at what the hell you was on about lol. i forgot it was you i sold them to lol.

To demonstrate flammability limits, get a metal biscuit tin, hole in top and bottom

Fill with gas and cover both holes as you run outside and put it on a couple of bricks, so the bottom hole isn't covered

Quickly light the gas at the top hole, hopefully you should get a nice small flame

Retire to a safe distance and watch, the flame will get shorter and finally disappear, then the tin will explode, hopefully not causing any damage

We did this at college when I did my apprenticeship

Did this with a paint tin, but it works MUCH better with a dustbin. Just watch out when the lid comes down
