Wideband air fuel meter (lambda) recommendation

Only one I've used is the Innovate with a Bosch sensor - never gave me any trouble though.

But bought one of these this year as its so cheap, seems to work ok comes with a Bosch sensor too

I've got a AEM UEGO I'm unlikely to put back in a car. I was very happy with it. Sure it's a Bosch sensor.

Bought about 4 years ago, realistically it did about 2k miles if that.

All the bits should be there for it, including the original mild steel boss though im pretty sure I bought a replacement stainless boss for it when I took it off the car.

It’s required for tunning Radial engines so needs to a stand-alone.

I suspect he is looking for a hand held device rather than an in dash gauge - that is what the Innovate is, so you can use it for setting up engines prior to install or work across multiple vehicles

I investigated this quite a bit for tuning VW engines and Innovate were pretty much the only company offering hand held units. They had a bit of a mixed reputation with the tuners but you didn't have a lot of choice to so most people went for them. I ended up not getting one but it is on the list of requirements for when I get time to get back to engine building

I've had the Innovate LM-1 and LM-2. The LM-2 is more modern and handier, records to SD card and also does basic OBD2 stuff. The LM-1 is more reliable.

ive also go the innovate and had no problems , they dont get great reviews for being reliable though

Have you used the data logging?

I want to use it to tune the Radial engines to a propeller, while on a stand. That’s the easy bit.

Once tuned, the datalogger would be very handy for inflight; As they are fitted to experimental aircraft, only the owner can fly them. So not easy to fly and manually log data as well.

The LM-2 has datalogging, yes I've used it but not much. You can download Logworks for free from their website. It logs 32 channels but has only 5 inputs IIRC, the rest comes from add-on boxes.

Have a look at what other products they have I haven't looked at them for a few years now.

After no end of trouble with my Innovate Wideband and no response from Innovate. I bought one of these, unpacked it, plugged it in and works perfectly.

Had a PLX, now have a Stack Wideband.
The PLX was a bit temperamental, the Stack works perfectly, and you can set up warnings etcetera.

I’ve just read my first pist and its a little ambiguous

So. I require a stand alone a/f lambda sensor meter. To statical tune Radial aircraft engines.
It would also be helpful it it had data logging, for in flight.

So far it looks like the Innovate LM2 is the top runner
