Why restoring/modifying cars seldom pays

Finally passed the MOT today on a retest as I had a slight leak brake pipe so renewed both front to rear pipes.

Cool, a Saab thread. I spotted a 93 a couple of weeks ago. Are they 2 cylinder or 2 stroke? Sounded unusual as it drove in.

2 cylinder 2 stroke a guy I know had one fitted in his kneeler outfit. it did reasonably well for the time

Hi, The Saab 92 was two cylinder, two stroke. The Saab 93 was three cylinder, two stroke.

Weren't those old saabs prone to seizing if you freewheeled down hills ? I remember hearing something like that about them.

Hi, Yes the 92 could seize on the overrun and the early 93s, they introduced the freewheel in '57 to overcome it.

I think a lot of two strokes did - I certainly remember having what i am sure was partial seizure on a Suzuki 100 downhill on closed throttle. A friend of mine put a 92 engine in a solo racing bike - looked very different.
