I think it is the thermostat can you follow the copper capiliary tube back to the adjustment knob and find out the type of thermostat it may be hidden behind 'clip on' plastic panels. I seem to remember 'Ranco' was the manufacture on my old Electrolux fridge obtained a replacement (Ace electrical in Swansea long gone now) replaced and it all worked until I got rid of it. I would add that a modern fridge does seem cheaper to run.
It could well be the stat on it`s way out.I have car body filler holding the freezer cover hinge together. Mice had a go at the door seal a few years ago and have eaten most of the polystrene from the back of the fridge near the compressor. If the stat packs-up and was more than a 10 or 12 quid with shipping, I think it would make economical sesnse to buy a new Beko fridge.
I tend to think that modern appliances is are not as well-made as the older stuff. Take my valve radio for example-I can still get "sing something simple" on there.

. If you stick a thermometer probe where the capillary tube touches the evaporator and it cuts out the compressor when it reaches around -14 C on the no1 setting then your thermostat is ok. Are you sure there is no winter summer flap type arrangement on the slide in tray at all.
