Why i hate other people welding my work :-(

Oh God here we go again

And then theres this....

He's noticed that his welding is pretty crap by now and he's attacked the work with a 9 inch Grinder???

He's then gone on to weld the underneath and thats it??

What a mess and a flaming Joke, Now any work like this that gets left will get put in the rework Pile, i'm not even going to put it right myself, He may as well get his finger out or clear off and let a decent welder have a job.

I'm going direct to the Directors on Monday, some people have no pride in their work at all, i'm sure i could weld better with my eyes shut, my hands tied behind my back and just using my feet.

Anyway weekend Starts for me now so i'll try and put it behind me until Monday

I've only done about two hours stick welding so far, but already feel I could do better than that.

Have you got some pictures of your work? just so I know what it should look like please? I know the welding you've shown even looks bad to a novice like myself, but I'm not really sure what some decent work should look like in comparison.

In 1981 I obtained a welding certifcate as a hobby. The course (12 months night school) was run as a local company (JCB) required such a certificate to do any work for them.
Neighbour is welder at JCB and says now people (mainly EU workers rather than UK residents) just claim they are welders without any qualifications. He says often they are complete novices and are taught "on the job" with it being his job to sort out their mistakes later down the production line.

Hi Paul,

Thats Strange what you've posted as its down to the company to check the welders qualifications, before they even start the Job. The problem now in the UK is some companies like to pay their welders peanuts, What welder fabricator are you going to get for £8.50 an hour?? Not a good one, so the only option is to employ EU nationals who are used to earning peanuts.

Being self employed and a qualified welder fabricator i'm supprise the last 3 companies i've work for haven't asked to see my qualifications or codings??
