Also the Atari ST in 1987, got one upstairs some where. Pig to programme in its own form of basic, the fore runner of windows!

Other one Pentium 800 still working from mid 2000.
Have a Commodore 64 with most accessories.
Still use almost daily an old programmable calculator Casio FX-700P from 1984, used to do more in 10 secs than state of the art pc's SX25 to DX2 66 that took well over 3 mins by 1994!
Have had others including ZX81,s.
I have at old mans house an Apple 2E acquired in 1981, very easy to write progs in basic for.

You're bring back memories now! I did similar round about the same time, but used transistors and bulbs with a phone dial. We made a computer at school, but setting the input switches and deciphering the binary display was more difficult than doing the calculation in the first place!
Amazing what memories you can stir up from the ashes.
I still remember running hundreds of neon bulbs all night to burn them in and picking matched pairs.
Setting multiturn pots on an analog computer for hours, to get an instantaneous answer.
I really think for most simulations, a hybrid system is the way to go.
When did you think last about an analog computer ?

So Mr Fluff or Shenion taking the crown? Me a 1981 ZX81 and a C64 1983 vintage. I could always mention I lived next door to Bletchley Park I guess then you could say the government owned the oldest computer and probably the best one ever made? i.e. colossus and the Enigma Machines

all joking aside things like the sega mega drives and nes and Snes are still entertaining! every summer my friend comes back from uni we just the old SNES off and i will hammer him repeatedly on street fighter2 and mario kart.

I just remember wanting one at school cos you were in the in crowd if you did and took it in for the last day of term. Someone gave it me a few years back, knowing I had a obsession with old computers even then.
I have a 2600 atari and some xbox's too (but they actually have a use, theyre "frontends" for a distributed mythtv pvr system and run xebian linux)
Altair's, well before my time, but funky to have all the same. I remember a shop in waterloo road in widness called "the computer junk shop" and they had row upon row of PET's and the like, but this was the early 80's and nobody wanted that sort of thing back then.
I was working for a client not long back and they still had a working dec vt100 terminal in daily use on a tea trolley for console access on the switches etc. X hundred a day on their consultants and they still couldnt stump up for a terminal server in the racks

Multiplayer Goldeneye in the archives! Spent hours and hours playing that! My housemate's just got a Wii so we've spent hours on Mario Kart and the Tennis.

We have one of them Casio's. The wife plays every instrument and showed me how to program it. They used one of the tones in a top 40 tune from the 80's.... do, da da da.

At school, it was called a sliderule!
I seem to remember making a box with loads of potentiometers in it and a couple of voltmeters but it didn't take the world by storm!
