I spent days welding Ford D series cabs with oxy Acetylene. Sweating, fires and burns were all commonplace.
I had years of it - the real step forward with MIG welding on cars is you only need one hand.
Getting yourself into position with two hands (torch and filler rod) - was awkward to say the least.
I can remember brazing them as well...

I really only do a few MOT sill patched repairs now - can't recall the last full sill I put on.
