Who dose a good 3 inch/75mm grinder

Any one know of a 75mm or 3 inch grinder looking as doing a bit of work in tight spaces and the 4 and 4.5 inch grinders just a little cumbersome.

Corded or cordless. don’t have a air compressor and I ain’t a dremmel fan plus don’t think it be gutsy enough for this application.

Die grinder territory , hard to go past Dynabrade , just a wee tad spendy though. But when the hurt is over they are mighty versatile , you wonder how you ever got by without a few of them , either straight , angled or 90 degree , and so many discs and burrs to choose from too.

Ah no air ,,, time for a compressor too and a cheaper die grinder , they are air hungry , but you can do lots with your new compressor too ..

The little bosch cordless 12v one is pretty good, I have a couple of them and they have all stood up well to a fair bit of work so far.
You need good condition battries to run them though.
The only issue I have found is it's quite easy to knock the switch off.
They all seem the same so I think this might actually be a design intention on them?

Metabo, Bosch, Milwaukee do 12v versions. Stormforce, Draper, Sealey do copies of them. The only corded one I know is Katsu. Proxxon do a couple of small ones.

I've got to say though my snap on die grinder has been excellent. I think I paid £120 cash off the van. It's the one with the black rubberised grip and chrome end.

They make a dedicated cut off grinder if I remember correctly.

I use one of those from time to time and with good burrs its a mighty bit of kit ,, very air hungry though.

Cheers guys been having a Google and although I’d be pouncing on the air options I don’t have that kind of budget just at the moment so I think I’ll give the Katsu mini a go as at only £27 think it’s the most friendly too my wallet just now and it’s not going to see heavy use.

I brought the katsu mini 6 months ago and for the price it's a good machine. Just don't go heavy with it like a normal grinder.

To be honest a cut off wheel doesn't put as much abuse on tools as a flap wheel or polishing pad so I think you'll do fine with that machine.

I've got a katsu mini, profile is good for de-tabing and such on bike frames etc over the die and air disk angle, I will say that it sounds like a bag of nails, and I've not used it hard or for long periods.
Also works ok with a cheapo speed control - if you were closer Rob you could loan it to see if it works for you - but given the rice.....

I know you are after electric, but hard to beat pneumatic for compactness - for die grinders or small cut off tools the CP stuff isn't bad. Taiwanese but decent and affordable.

If you are cutting in awkward places sometimes a reciprocating saw is the answer.
If grinding then a B+D powerfile is amazing - along with carbide burs in a die grinder.

It’s going to be in and around car body in a small space. Will need a bit of grinding ability too but was looking at the evolution power band file for that, black and decker one looks alright too.

I have never used the Evolution one. The B+D is cheaper though. Mine gets used all the time. Feels cheap and nasty but has lasted years. Really does remove a lot of metal very quickly. The supplied belts are rubbish. Use the blue ones people sell on Ebay.
