im welding some 2mm aluminium tanks at the moment for the motor sport division and the weld comes out spot on but i just wish i could lose the gas line.does anyone have any idea how to do this please
Do you mean the white marks either side of the weld??
If so, then this is where the oxide layer has been removed by the ac arc and has nothing to do with the gas.
The only way you maybe able to reduce it, is too increase the AC Frequency and change the AC Balance so it spends a longer time in the DC- pole, so you have less cleaning effect.
yes thats what i ment.i got myself a fronius single phase 220 magic wave. i wanted to start a little business from home and alot of people wanted jobs doing on site so the set was really handy.
You will be able to change the AC Balance and Frequency on that machine, try it on about 80-90 Hz. From memory, I think that the factory setting on that machine is around 60 Hz.
i keep meeting to have a mess with it, been abit lazy really ha ha.struggled to get much out of it when i first got it cause it only had an air torch, since i had the water cooled torch and cooler fitted its been a dream and i dont have to worry about it over heating
