Which wood butcher forum?

Anyone recommend a UK based woodwork forum, basically a down-to-earth forum like this, but for wood?

UK Workshop have an annoying post thing where you have to post a certain amount of times before you can do pics. I couldn’t be bothered wasting my time so I just post on here

Uk workshop is ok but can be a bit soul less. If you ever put anything on there for sale be prepared for lots of time wasters & people trying to get it for nowt.

Can't help you with a UK forum but here is one we use down under in OZ.

http://www.woodworkforums.com/ it even has a metal workers forum associated with it.

I took his advice and never used that search criteria - I can only assume he'd been scandalised by what he or someone else had found.

I'm afraid to ask now, in case he goes into lurid detail.......and shortly after he passed on the advice, his wife succumbed to cancer so the topic seemed irrelevant and has never been mentioned again until I remembered now.

You could always give it a go and report on your findings, of course - also how long it'd probably take to clear all the dodgy links which flooded your computer.......

Not found a Similar wood forum yet, there's a festool owners group that has some decent project threads but they are sensitive to people not totally devoted to using the Green Stuff

Have to say I haven't found many forums on any other topics with the Hospitality and generally nice feel as this forum. Disco3.co.uk is closest if your a D3/4 owner very similar friendly community and banter.

Going back to Jerry's OP; The WBF is a huge source of info. Every thing from profs giving the specifics of different woods, to informed discussions on just about every wood working tool built. And, since it is worldwide, stuff on woods that only grow in OZ (for example). Not to mention some staggeringly well done building projects.

I find ukworkshop informative and helpful with UK biased knowledge and help. When I stated getting into woodwork I looked at lumberjocks but a lot of the American methods and terminology did more to confuse than help.

I used to use UKWorkshop occasionally, but havnt for a couple of years now. Lots of informative stuff, but minimal banter.
