Hey guys I'm trying to build a project out of 7018 rods first I need a project and would I use 3/32 or 1/8 rods
Personally, I'm of the opinion that people should learn with a 7016 or 7018 because of the ease of differentiating the puddle from the flux.
How often do you see a newbie wormholing a 6013 fillet for example? It is because the arc force is so little and the flux is heavy.
Shame they are so expensive!
Of the 6013 I've used, I rate phoenix as the best
Happy with my MIG but wanted to play at welding larger thicknesses (literally "play" - I don't have a project for this!).
So I've got a wee 100A buzz box I bought off a member on here for £30, and just ordered some 6013s for less than £7 delivered (ebay).
Better to practise when nothing is at stake, I guess
