Go with what your budget will stretch to. my advice is to get the best you possibly can , the better quality welder will show through in your work. same with the helmets too. Many people tend to use the clarkes , i had a small cebora which was good for learning with but is nothing compared to a portamig. Take a look at what weldequip sells i have had loads off him with great service!
oh and what bus have you got ?? we restore and paint them for a living.
Drew
that looks lovely we have bought all the panels from schofields and both front doors and tailgates are second hand from californian broken buses and have son in law who is a welder so will be getting help from him
The white westy on the front cover of the mag is our own and the rest are customers. We have actually jus got a new project its a 68 stocholm from sandiago and number 63 off the production line. Its so rare we are pleased to have dropped on to it and we will be uploading all the pics to our site of how we do it!
Good luck with your van!
will keep an eye on that saw some lovely buses at vanfest at weekend cant believe how dear some are oh by the way have been given a 110 amp cebora gas mig welder have managed to get wire feed going just need some gas and will have a go at welding on some scrap
