hello, im curently rebuilding a van and do the odd bit with motorcycle frames.
i currently have a cheap chinese tig but am looking to buy a mig for welding things like sills, panels and a number of old lock holes in my vw transporter , as i struggle with the tig to be honest, and feel mig would be easier on vehicle panels
.#
so im looking at a couple of welders and would like your advice.
ive seen a clarke 165e mig locally used for under 200 quid, but am not sure about buying used kit ( i keep asking myself why they are selling it if it works great).
ive got a budget of around 300 quid which would bring new stuff like the gas clarke 151 into the picture.
id want to use gas with whatever i end up with, and would appreciate any help with chosing something decent , that will last a while.
i dont do a huge amount of welding and am budget restricted so stuff like an r tech 180 are out of the question
Any advice appreciated
