Hi,
I'm new to welding and wasn't sure what settings and features I should be looking for based on what I intend to use the welder for.
Some basic welding jobs that I need to do right now off the top of my head are:
-Extend tractor axles to fit bigger tires. Welding a threaded rod onto an axle
-Welding a pivoting bolt in place to the underside of a tractor body
-Some square stock
Also what is the benefit of a welder that uses flux core vurses a shielding gas? It would seem like a pain to have to buy a tank of gas and monitor pressure ect. when you could just forget about it using the special wire? But I am new to this so I'm not sure.
Anyways if anyone would be willing to point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I have a limited budget for this and expect to be buying used. I just hate having to ask my neighbour for help every weekend.
