Hello. I am looking to replace my old and well used Clarke 150 t mig welder. I have heard of inverter migs, but which is best. Normal or inverters. Can someone advise me please. I use it mainly for car bodywork and have a stick welder for heavier work.
I know its a bit above budget but i bought an ESAB C160i inverter mig. I am really really pleased with it. I bought it for car bodywork and it does that very well. What made me buy it was that it is very portable and can be run off a long extension or generator if needs be. I have welded up to 5mm plate no problem and down to 0.8mm equally as well.
If you are really experienced (which i'm not) then I could see that something with a bit more adjustment (fine tuning ability really) may be better.
MMMM. Very interesting. Had a read up on it and like it. I will have to save a bit more but it looks worth it. Thank you. I would like a light one as my old clarke is heavy.
