Hi everyone
I have cut my 1994 Toyota mr2 in half ready for a stretch of around 10 inches to accommodate a kit car shell which i would like to place on top.
I will be using two pieces of 2"x4" tube steel 3mm thick and welded it inside each rocker panel allowing about 5" extra on each side of each brace to extend up into the rock-panel cavity;
I know this is really a job for a mig but i am on a remote location with no power.
So i have dug out my trusty 230 amp JLO arc petrol welder.
I was wondering which rod thickness and spec would anyone out there recommend so i don't blow holes though,yet get the weld and strength that i need.
Any input would be greatly received
