Which printer?

Looking to get a printer soon, unsure which one but looking at the Bambu P2S or H2S, though that is more than I wanted to spend.

Needs to be enclosed for higher temp filaments. H2S has a heated chamber, P2S doesnt, but perhaps I can wire a small heater, sensor and fan up if needed.

I have not yet got around to looking at the other brands.

If you don't need multi filament I'd consider the Elegoo Carbon Centauri. Picked one up a couple of weeks ago for £250 in the sale and I've been bloody impressed. Haven't owned a Bambu to compare but my understanding with the hardened nozzle more like the X1C albeit without AMS but they are saying there will be one.

Is the p2s heated enclosure? I have heard too many problems with H2S.

The Centauri doesn't have a heated chamber as standard, but easily modified if required. They are a cracking machine.

Regarding a possible AMS, not something to hold ones breath over. 50/50 as to whether one will ever appear, for the original Centauri. Apparently there a Centauri 2 now, which has multi-colour. It looks a tw*t though.

Bambu have got some good price reductions at the moment. I don’t normally get taken in by all the Black Friday nonsense, but Bambu do usually seem to give good discounts when they run a promotion.

I would say bambu p1s, especially at the current price. @My Old Landy has (I think) the p1s and the centauri so can offer an opinion on the best out of the 2.

P1s with AMS and Bambu filament is really just as simple as it goes- you don’t even need to plug in temperatures…
p2s with AMS 2 at £699 has a built in drier which helps. Over to @My Old Landy for a comparison of Bambu to Elegoo

I own a Bambu. They just work.

I have both as stated above.
If you want an ams then the Bambu is my personal choice.
If you want cheap and reliable core xy then the Elegoo is a front runner.
I don't check first layer on either, they just run.
Having an ams for me just means I can run without worrying about being there to change a spool.

I actually prefer the Centauri to the S1, personally. The S1 obviously has the benefit of the AMS, but the Centauri & I just click. The S1 is a good printer though.

I run all the printers via standard Orca, now. I don't bother using the manufacturers version.

I've got a K1. No messing about just load the filament and print.

That's the beauty of the latest generation of printers. Modifications are optional. None are necessity.
