Which one would you keep?

I'm very much an absolute beginner when it comes to welding. I bought a second hand smart mig 162 a while back, not used it much due to renovating my whole house.....so the garage has been full of things like kitchen bits etc
I have recently been given a BOC Gasses Automaster 185. The 185 is obviously physically bigger than the 162, and seems a more sturdy unit, but does this mean better? Would you keep one over the other, or is there a benefit in keeping both?
I'll be starting to cut and weld my van panels soon, so quite thin metal, but I'd also want to weld up to say 3-4mm steel too.
Any advice is gratefully received!

i have 2 as well

clarke 150 and a cebora 195

the clarke i use if needed to be portable whilst the big machine stays put and is used when needed

The GYS will do what you need, they are good machines, nicely made.

The BOC may have been made by Cerbora. Also a good machine but being older, won't have as good back up if it breaks.

get some scrap and try them both , which ever you are happy with keep, you might find one seems to weld that little bit better than the other , if your doing thin tin 1mm bodywork thats what you need to test on first and then obviously the thickest, or as other suggest keep one spare anyways
