Lately I have been toying between 2 choices of mill. Yes I know I would be better off buying a second hand Bridgeport or KRV, but these machines are too large for my home workshop and I am limited to single phase.
My choices are:
http://www.warco.co.uk/milling-machines/33-wm-18-variable-speed-milling-machine.html
http://www.amadeal.co.uk/acatalog/MT3_Spindle_w__DRO.html
The Warco with a basic DRO is about the same price as the AMA25 with DRO.
There are subtle pros and cons for each ie. Warco has larger table but a shorter x-axis travel. The warco does have a greater Y-axis travel though. The Warco has a smaller drilling capacity than the AMA but has a larger end mill capacity.
The AMA has optional table power feed accessory, but I am waiting to hear from Warco to see if one is available for their machine.
I am umming and erring between both, but I think I have more confidence in the quality and aftercare from Warco. Lets hope a powerfeed is available as it will likely tip the scales for the Warco for sure.
Any oppinions?
Cheers
