Morning all
Having just discovered this site I need some advice.
I have a SIP 205 which has given me sterling service for 12 years .It now has reached the end of the road.Only last week as it reached the end of a 15Kg spool the tail of the wire was not securly fastened onto the drum and it started to unwind inside the machine and shorted out.
The plastic spool eventually started to burn and I had flames coming from the machine.
I also have a Migatronic Single phase machine which has a remote unit.
Fantastic piece of kit but needs 5 guys just to pick it up.
What I need is a single phase machine which will run off both mains and genset.Preferably with a remote.
I do mostly on site work where current is always a problem.
180 volts is the norm.Using 0.8wire and 2mtr. torch will always overcome this but I do work in the most hostile of enviroments.Salt water ,sticky mud and windy conditions.
I have had stick welding guys watching me finish a job when the wind took a 9" grinder off the scaffold.
I would buy another SIP in a heartbeat but really would prefer a remote set.
The Migatronic has a 25' extension, perfect, but the plant is just too heavy to move without a crane.
Any ideas chaps.
