So which brands of welding torches are the best for an upgrade? Parweld do one but other than using there PPE i dont know much about them really.
Binzel are the standard really, they've been copied by everyone and their dog. Best sticking with the OG brand if you can.. for a few quid more than you'd pay for the copy.
If possible try and find their EVO PRO range, it's got a slightly lighter and more flexible cable so easier to handle.
i have a evo pro binzel with a 5m lead..and honestly its one of the best things ive ever got for the work shop! i dont really have to move the welder much and as i make dog kennels upto 12 ft i can walk round them and just flick the leads about. very much recomended.. also from memory was about £150?
I have got a surplus binzel evo pro here, lighter/more flexible cable and has the flex joint as well. Its been used but would be quite a bit cheaper than a new one...
They are worth the extra money over the normal ones, the ball joint let's the sheath swivel so you dont have to flap the thing around when the wire rotates around in the liner.
yeah I kept the torch that was on a esab welder that swivels on a ball, not like the one on the thermal arc I've got im not sure what make it is but it red in color, not blue id have to take a picture of it as someone on here would know for sure
Yon standard Binzel MB25 is fine, but has that stupid friction spring clip thing that if you're doing lots of welding, gets jammed and damaged as you pull the shroud on and off to clean. If you want the "best" 250 amp size, you'd be better looking at either a 24 or 26 from Binzel or TBi, both have the much more durable shroud design similar to the MB36. Main problem is finding them for sale, and I'm sure they won't be cheap!
I think this is pretty legit tbf... https://www.weldingsuppliesdirect.c...ig-torches/binzel-mb25-evo-pro-mig-torch.html Yeah in my work we have the ones that cause friction, had to replace my spring before now and go through shoruds every couple of weeks even with good upkeep.
