40 years ago I was enjoying strumming out a few tunes on poor quality 6 string guitars, and also the 4-string electric bass in our little punk band.
To give an idea how bad..bass was an 'Audition' brand, Woolworths' own brand, it cost £17.50 as I recall.
I have been having repeated hankerings to pick up an acoustic 6 string again, is it possible to get a reasonable one for £50-100 quid? The trouble is, I don't know all the different makes, which makes it tricky to bid on ebay etc.
I don't care if it is Chinese or whatever, as long as the frets and neck are flat.. and it doesnt go out of tune in 5 minutes with my ham fisted attemps to re-create my rock n roll youth! I knew the basic 12-bar blues etc.
I have told my neighbour I'm getting some bagpipes and it will take about 5 years daily practice before I can play Loch Lomond so he will be pleasantly surprised..
