Picked this Colchester Triumph 2000 up from a chap in Wales. Found it on Gumtree of all places. Needs a bit of TLC but runs very smoothly and came with some decent tooling, 4 jaw and a 3 chuck. Made my 1.5 tonne fork truck sweat a bit and the rental transit flat top had its work cut out..

Will do. Got a job I gotta do quick but then i’ll Have a better look. Want a DRO kit to retrofit, I prefer lathes with ‘em. Really will need to do a Puwer assessment and that will probably involve an interlock Chuck guard & leadscrew guard. All fun..

Have a search through @Carl Wilson's posts, he has [or is about to] fit one to a machine - lathe or mill, I can't recall which offhand.

I think his brother, also a Member on here, has done the same.

I had a bad experience on one of those where I selected a gear and it roared into life whilst still in neutral. Something faulty. Prime example of why you don’t leave the chuck key in, you just never know what could happen.

They're not, but Carl's brother is here too - I just can't recall his username.

I think I need to chip in here and put right a few misconceptions!

My brother, Dean, is on here and his handle is Retromecanica. He has an Emco V10P lathe. He is looking at fitting a DRO soon, oddly enough.

Paul whose handle is paulhar is not a blood relative of mine but a close friend and former shipmate. So as good as a brother. He has fitted a DRO from eBay to his XYZ lathe.

I've got a Harrison M250 and I'm currently in the final stages of The Longest DRO Fit Since The Dawn Of Time. My DRO came from EMS International as recommended by Doubleboost.

I should add that the fraternal confusion was entirely of my own making.

So far, so good. Problem with start switch fizzing and trying to start the lathe without touching it, had to swap that out. Sorting out a load of rusted tool holders and generally cleaning it up. See my post in things you have made today.
Tooling arrived, hope to get turning tomorrow.
Found a manual for it for free, just google Colchester triumph electrical diagram.
