which disposable gas bottle option best

This is again one of those subjects which appear extremely confusing to a novice . I have read and reread several threads on here and have decided for the small amount of welding I will be doing that disposable is best for me.

I have bought a Seigen 130 Mini mig and need to order some disposable gas.

Which of these three options would be most economical for welding on a couple of wings to my Transit van (mostly spot and pug welds) Please do not suggest contract or pub gas . I just need a recommendation for one of the three options listed

but none of them last long small argon last max 15mins

thanks for the suggestion but I would need to fork out another £40 for a regulator £8.0 special adaptor £??? for a CO2 cylinder and have all the hassle of trying to find somewhere to fill it .
Thats got to be an extra £100 and loads of hassle for me as I am 20 miles from any decent sized town and 50 miles from a City

Don't think you will have any issues with any of those choices - all much the same capacity for the much same cost.
I would lean toward the two bottle option as generally the mini reg needs to be fully opened and you will have no way to know what gas remains - no joy to be had in running out just as you are half way through and the shops have shut. Better to have a spare on hand.

Always unscrew the reg from the bottle before packing up.

Particualry with CO2 it does not take long to get the payback on a regulator. Cost of regulator £30 (£38 if you need to fit to an existing small bore plastic pipe). A full CO2 cylinder cost me £35, that was a £20 returnable deposit on the cylinder and £15 per 7kg fill.

At 600g you need almost 12 disposables to 1 pub bottle to get the same amount of gas i.e. £144 for disposables vs £73 for the regulator, bottle and first fill. If you have a local fire extinguisher company you may also be able to get some old CO2 extinguishers for free (with gas in) and use these (or get them to refill the pub size bottle)

thanks for the tip about removing the bottle .
I ordered the larger bottle today for £17.00 I figured they would last longer than the smaller bottles and postage is free anyway so I can order as and when I need them.

Do your sums again weseeyou; the 3 off deal is for the standard size canisters, not the higher capacity one's. The one you bought is the higher capacity one...works out just over a quid cheaper for one off's...but if you bought two you would be saving £4.63 on "Free Postage", 3 off £10.42! on postage.
