which cylinder

Hi I am looking to get a gas cylinder sorted in the near future, am i right in think that the first link does not have the right thread to screw on a regulator but the second does?

I dont really want to go down the rental route as a full cylinder will last me ages (maybe years?) so would somthing like this be suitable for ocasional use?

I think you will find the first bottle has a cap over/protecting the thread and is same thread as second bottle. Both have the type of thread as found on pub co2 bottles. This thread will fit some regulators but to use a propper argon / argon-co2 mix (ie boc) bottle you will need an adapter for the above regulator or a regulator with correct male thread. For what they are asking for thoes bottles (plus postage or travel to collect) you are better off tapping up your local pub landlord for a CO2 only bottle or find a "celler wine supplies" depo. In Bristol it's about £40 ish for bottle inc gas. If you look around forum you should find a section on gases with list of suppliers.

Thanks for the advice, will the co2 regulator kit in weldequip fit the pub bottles without an extra adaptor?

I pay £16 for co2 pub gas ,have you already sourced a supplier for pub gas?...don't buy anything till you have and weldquip can supply regs etc ,my mate got everything for a diy mig from him and gas through me.....ps ....just checked your links ...try bar suppliers and landlords,that co2 is expensive ,or look at non rental like adams gas etc for argon mix
