Which adhesive

Looking at putting tiles down in bathroom. It's got a sound wood floor and I want to put down ply to give the tiles a nice flat surface to stick to. I want to put adhesive under the ply before screwing it down to prevent any movement, would this Gripfill adhesive from Screwfix be suitable?.

If you're screwing the ply down then it's not gonna move anyway or am I missing a trick here?

That stuff is quite thick and will probably suspend the ply off the floor.
With it only pulling down directly around the screws could cause problems, especially the edges.

It was just my over engineering "belt & braces approach and I'd seen builders on TV programs do it.

And don't underestimate how much future Robotstar will hate past Robotstar when he has to remove said ply for some reason and it's been stuck down.

Future Robo will NOT be happy having to remove £300 worth of tiles to get to said plywood!

I'm not saying it's can't be done but cement floors fine wood will always move even if just a small amount ply wood unless it's a 16 mm plus will move and even that will move a small amout use flexible tile adhesive and flex tile grout should make it last a few years don't drop anything on them or they will crack then the water gets underneath and wreak every thing

If wooden floors I would use ac5 laminate tile effect flooring ac5 has got green board water ristant and easy to put down don't mind if flexes a bit and easy to remove when need arise

I got tiles over the flooring in the kitchen in the house I moved in to and taking the tiles up easy as they fall off but not the time cement took an hour to do 2 square meters

If it's wood to wood bond you want and the original flooring is reasonably flat the PVA is a good cheap solution.

When I did the hallway floor in 3/4" maple planks on top of the existing floor boards I stuck it down with Sikaflex and hidden nailed it for good measure. I pity the poor soul who that decides to take it up, there'll be some serious cursing going on.
