where to purchase a clarke machine?

ive googled for clarked welders and all i seem to get is ebay or machine mart, does machine mart have the lions share of clarke sales or what?

i was hoping to shop online and view the specs/pics to try and decide

does any high st place like halfords or such do them

I've a feeling that Clarke is a Machine Mart owned brand, which would explain why there aren't so many other dealers that sell them. There is certainly some big tie up between the two.

If Clarke was a MM brand, then I doubt you would see the dealers in the US.

Clarkes are sold under the Sears name, sold at Harbour freight, Northern Tools, and have several US online dealers.


How low end do you want? Doesn't he carry the 130? A 150 would be my minimum.

was hoping for about £160...i really cant stretch to much more and would only use it for the odd inch of weld every 6 months or so, i also have a arc welder for any hefty stuff

As has been said in so many other posts, £160 will not get you much of a welder, in fact if you really want a Clarke, you'll only be able to get a 90 amp which quite honestly isn't worth getting IMO. There'll always be a time that comes when you need that little bit extra oomph. Lawson-his do the 135te for £182 + £4 carriage, not a bad price at all really and a half-decent machine for light occasional use.

I've got a Butters 180 on eBay at the moment... yours for 99p, as of 21.45 on 27/09/07 (my last no reserve auction for a 170C model was a disaster... the bugger ending up getting it for less than dealer cost price keep an eye on it, you may get a bargain )
