Where to buy v belt pulleys?

After looking though my box of pulleys, and not finding the right one, i thought id just go on ebay and pick one up for pocket change....

But, no - theyre not far off £20! It makes my box full worth £100s!

Surely this isnt standard pricing? Im after a 4", with 5/8" bore, with keyway.

Plenty of other bore 4" units in my box. If my lathe was anywhere close if make up a sleeve.

never very cheap anymore but usually they'll want boring out.......taper fit iron ones which I like are quite expensive.......I guess around ur £20 + a little bit.....u can reuse em quite often tho......the alloy 1'ne's, best price is China but ya hav'ta wait.........
as 4 ur's, try selling them for plenty........hahaha...it'll never happen........
I always collect/buy pully's from car boots if they r cheap just cos they are there.......good luck

One of my 4" ones is 1/2 inch bore, and i need 5/8 bore, so i could drill it out, but the videos ive watched on youtube seem to use more complex equipment than i have to hand in order to cut the keyway.

Im wondering if i cant just assemble a hacksaw through the part, and just have at, and finish up with a file?

Why not if you take your time, mark it out both sides with a sharpie etc. Might be best to use a file from the start to,stop it wondering around too much.
