I have got to admit, I was not really impressed with the larger bessey C/G clamps, the smaller ones were OK but the larger sizes (six inch etc) were very sloppy. Probably not what you wanted to hear.
Older Record ones were much better made.
I was impressed by the extra heavy duty Kennedy clamps - When they were on sale with discount they are very reasonably priced and excellent quality. The current pricing is very steep though, so I would hold out until it drops if you can. Their deep throat ones are also very handy.
As much as I like C clamps, and I still think they have a lot of uses, I have to say that F clamps are just so much more convenient for most things, to the point I rarely reach for a C clamp now.
Kennedy ones are brilliant, Piher are also very good. I've not tried them but the Rutlands four and six piece sets are supposed to be reasonable for the money too.
Sorry no idea where you might find them in NI. Not sure on their postage charges.

Out of interest where did you buy from?
Dennis Wilson in Glenavy is a mecca for tools of all varieties. I could spend days (and many thousands of £££) in his vast premises.
That place is literally an Aladdins cave of tools. Every time I visit I find a new part of the shop I haven't been in! It's lucky its so far away otherwise I'd be very broke!

They are the Loch dealer for NI so it can be a very costly place to visit.
I was in the Belfast branch last week and they had a pile of Starrett gear out on display for anyone to pick up. A dial gauge was £150 so I passed.

I bought a g clamp I’m woodies to see what was like and really pleased for €15 they take a lot of abuse Iv pulled 100x100x6 box straight and used them for lifting the same 5mtr lengths impressed me enough to I went back and got the other 3 they had left . Iv some really good clamps and pure dirt ones but for the money there my go to and perfect still
You were right. I think its very sloppy too. It doesn't even sit right when clamped, its at an angle. I think ill try and send it back.

I hate pretty much all G clamps for that reason and will never buy them. It's hard to find ones that are actually straight enough to clamp straight.
It's rare to find a job that an F clamp isn't as good or better than a G clamp.

I feared that might be the case, seem to have been quite a few reports of this, including on here https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/bessey-g-clamps.34146/ - similar story.
My experience was lots of side to side wobble and threads not tapped straight. Smaller sizes seem to be a lot better, although still a bit variable.
I know it is only a G clamp, but for what you pay for a proper brand name, you expect something better or at least equal to the £3 cheapies. I don't doubt they are strong, but fit and finish lets them down.
Try the Kennedy Extra Heavy Duty ones, mine were true and tight - or grab some F clamps as Munkul says, they tend to be more handy.

Kennedy heavy duty, bessey and carver! The Kennedy f style heavy duty clamps are really good for the money.
