I use brick acid for derusting - from B&Q etc
Tescos....couple of dozen lemons?
I've used that too, works a treat as long as you wash it off and protect whatever you've derusted from flash rusting again.I use brick acid for derusting - from B&Q etc
What does that make, apart from sugar water?tin of black treacle from Tesco, added to gallon of warm water.
rust removal treatment like Fertan, its slower than citric acid but not as aggressive, ive chucked some 10.9 bolts in citric and some of the pits were rather alarming...to the point i just binned them ( chassis fittings). What does that make, apart from sugar water?
I like that, slow but cheap and harmless. You live and learn don’t you
o us Scots You Southerners call golden syrup treacle ...because your all wrong
No we don't. Golden syrup is syrup, there's a clue in the name. Treacle, as you've said is a dark sticky concoction.
I had always thought that Golden Syrup / Black are types of treacle. Treacle itself being 'refined sugar' with the amount and degree of refinement / cooking determining the type of treacle it becomes?
Kind of like soft boil / hard boil on sugar.
Aye exactly, different treatments but the same base product IYSWIM. Of course the other way around compared to oil, black treacle is the most processed and crude oil the least?I always thought black treacle was the equivalent of crude oil, and golden treacle the equivalent of Kero.
But dunno.

But dunno.
