where to buy Ali filler rods

Good evening all, just a quick question does anyone know where I can buy some Ali filler rods in the Leeds/ York area?
I called Wakefield welding centre but the minimum pack size they sell is 2.5kg at around £26. I'm new to TIG so I was after some 4043 and 5356 grade which hopefully will cover most repair and fabrication jobs in the garage but can't afford fifty odd quid.
There are some sellers on ebay doing them in 1kg packs but I would rather call in a shop and avoid postage costs.

See above, weldequip do small packs for about a tener.

The only brand i can think of that exists in smaller packs than 2.5kg is SIF although many places don't stock their 1.0kg packs, Rapidwelding may do. Weldequip (top of page) sells 'maintenance packs' and is closer to you but not exactly local enough to make popping in cheaper than mail order. Small packs will cost you more in the long run. Why not just buy some 4043 now and worry about other flavours when you've learnt to weld

There are two welding suppliers round here and either of them will sell me a fivers worth of any rods I ask for if I turn up at the shop with money in my hand.

Thanks for the info.
Its not just the postage costs that put me off mail order, I just like to know where these places are in the area if Im stuck and need stuff urgently so dont have to wait for the postman.
Also I prefer buying stuff face to face as you tend to get a better deal if like me just a hobbyist and paying cash.

Agreed, give the guys at Pennine a bell they may be able to help you out. Dont think BOC will have any packs smaller than 2.5kg

It's not a quantity all the Gas and Gear shops stock as "standard" so it's best to ring and check first, you may need to order from some shops
