I think I'll have to look for a trailie as I find most bikes riding position seem to put too much weight on my hands/wrists and after about 10 miles I get numb hands, maybe I'm getting too old for biking? 
What ?! The only time you're too old for biking is when you're in a box !
Remember Len Vale Onslow, rode down to Buck Pal for his award from the Queen when he turned 100 !!!
Big trailies are good fun, bought a spanking new Yamaha Tenere in 1989, the one with the FZR 1000 twin headlights. Did a good few trips to Lemans and the Bol and it was epic, soaked up the miles and that massive tank gave it outstanding range. Would love a KTM super adventure V Twin, everything the Tenere was with more speed !
Look at the old Honda Afrika Twins, the later ones, brilliant machines. Long legged and very comfortable.

Always liked singles myself,CB250RS, 75000miles on an xbr500, traveled round west africa for two years on an ancient Tenere, Honda Dominator.
But they were all Japanese.
When you get it back can I have a go on it? I remember seeing an old Sanglas in Spain and quite fancying it.
I was shocked to find that Spain had a history of engineering.
The 250RS is the favourite bike I ever owned, something very special out of what should have been mediocracy.
I met a young guy in Hull who had one ,his comment about the handling summed it up; " Sticks T't roared like ***** T yer bed sheets" I had to run away laughing. Perfick.

I suffer the same problem. And recently it's been increasing in severity, and occurrence. I been told it's trapped nerves in the neck, from whiplash, but there are other reasons so you really ought to get it checked out fella
CB250RS's are a favourite of mine too, I have one in bits !! It was a project bike that I got cheap, intended to do an unusual techy, post apocolypse paint job on it but it hasn't happened yet ! They are starting to fetch strong money. I also have a weakness for MZ's, have 3 of those.
Sanglas have quite a history and are very interesting machines. The model I've bought has only one well known issue, 5th gear can strip ! However, it was due to a material fault I'm told and can be sorted with better quality parts. It's very accessible as the gearbox has it's own cover and 5th gear is immediately behind it. Otherwise it's a very strong bike, massive bearings, dry sump, good build quality. Spanish bikes are legend, Bultaco (would love a 370 Frontera enduro !), Montesa and Ossa.
You're welcome to a have a potter on it, I wouldn't mind a wander over to Hereford before the weather changes.

Off topic I know but definitely get it checked out! I've got 3 knackered disks in my spine from my RAF days (11 years ago) and had to have one operated on in Italy last year. My leg is now in permanent pain, half numb and three fingers in my left hand go numb several times a day.
I advise against operations unless absolutely necessary (like in my case) but it's worth knowing what's wrong so you don't make it any worse.

Tigler welcome anytime we can reminisce about old honda singles and we can cut the Sanglas up as it is bound to have seized. Maybe even skive off to The Crown for a bit of sustenance. If you are coming let me know a day or so before.

Probably right, I've had limited neck movement since an accident in 1988 so maybe things are getting worse + old age!

I'm 35, so not really looking forward to what I have to come!
Still, I try to live life to the full without knackering my back any more!Well it didn't seize but we will have to postpone your test ride !
Long story short I arrived home at 1.30 am today after a scary mechanical failure on the M25 at about 6.45 PM yesterday !
Felt a wobble like a puncture as I entered a tunnel near the A10 junction on the M25, in a few hundred mtrs it became quite serious and I thought I was off ! Managed to keep hold of it and came to a stop on the hard shoulder just out of the tunnel.
Tyre was ok but the wheel could be moved side to side by about 3" at the tyre ! Verdict at the scene was a broken wheel spindle or something in the hub. Lucky I'm in the AA !
Other problems are a gearbox gradually developed a problem, jumping out of top then 4th gear and shocks that just gave up any semblance of damping !
So, I have messaged the seller that we need a chat ! Waiting for a reply !
Apart from the above the bike is OK !!

Fortunately not !! At least the recovery drivers were also bikers so I got some sympathy ! Don't expect any joy with the seller but I have to try. I know you can't expect a 30 odd year old bike to be perfect but I did specifically ask him if it was ok to ride back, he assured me it was. Lesson learned !

I'd have been on the phone to the seller from the hard shoulder! just glad it didn't have you off (or worse). Are you hoping for a partial refund and repair it or send it back?.
My phone battery was low so I needed to conserve it for the prevailing situation !
Money back is not really going to happen, I just want the guy to recognise he has a moral obligation to offer a partial refund, although having just read his initial reply I consider that unlikely !

iff only these sellers would come clean before the road trip then you could take a calculated risk yourself and all is good..its when they say "ahh no problem driving 200 miles"...i bought a powerboat once with so called new wheel bearings expecting to drive 180 miles,the rest is un-printable
another ebay trusted sellerHe seems to have had a crisis of conscience !! I responded to his initial, uncooperative response with a few select examples of him being economic with the truth and reminding him of his assurance it was ok for the journey. He seems to have been thinking about the possible consequences as he has now asked for a copy of the AA recovery report !
That will be sent tomorrow. I will also request a copy of the Highways Agency Response crews incident report in case he remains reluctant.
